You miss the HN threads about your product, your competitors or your niche — until someone forwards them a week later.
hnwatch checks Hacker News every 15 minutes. You get an email, at most one an hour, when a new story or comment contains the words you watch.
How it works
- You type up to 10 words or phrases: your product name, a competitor, a topic.
- Every 15 minutes we read the new stories and comments on Hacker News.
- When one contains your words, you get an email with the link. At most one email per hour, or one a day at 8:00 if you prefer.
The email you get
Example, for a watch on “sqlite”:
Hello,
2 new items on Hacker News match your watches.
Change or remove your watches: https://tools.gibses.com/hnwatch/app
Too many emails? Pause hnwatch alerts (your watches stay saved): https://tools.gibses.com/hnwatch/alerts/…
Price
9 € a month: the first 7 days are free, you add a card at the start and we charge nothing before day 8. Or 49 € once, paid today, for life.
Prices include VAT.
What it is not
It is not a feed reader: you do not read HN here. You get an email with a link when your words appear.
It does not touch your HN account. No login, no posting, no voting. We only read the public HN API.
It is not instant: HN publishes, we check every 15 minutes, then the email goes out.
Who makes this
Team GiBSeS, a small engineering company working between Switzerland and Italy (GiBSeS OÜ, Tallinn). We build small tools that do one job. If a tool does not find enough paying users in 30 days, we close it and email you a link to download your data.
